An awesome weekend has sadly come to an end. Last Saturday-Sunday, we finished building apps created by 14 participants in our Free Ruby on Rails Workshops. It was a pleasure to organize this event for all of you guys!
Here’s a quick rundown of the event’s timeline!
Step no. 1 First, we chose 15 lucky participants with the keenest abilities and potential to learn Rails. All of them solved the required preliminary task with great skill; we then invited them all to play with us in our workshops!
Step no. 2 This was the best part! We met together on a beautiful, sunny, Saturday morning to code. 14 people plus 5 coaches. 16 hours ahead of us, and a lot of tickets to execute. Perfect. We all do it because of Rails.
Step no. 3 There were only two things that’ve disturbed our work: sandwiches and pizza. Well, we love coding as much as we love eating.
Step no. 4 The result was four different web applications developed by groups of 3-4 people. Here’s what we ended up with:
Step no. 5 After two days of coding everyone was exhausted but, we hope, satisfied.
Netguru’s coaches were supporting participants by giving them a lot of helpful tips and tricks. On Sunday evening, each team presented their work.
Step no. 6 Evaluation. We asked participants how they liked our workshops and... they surprised us! We got interesting feedback and have a bunch of new ideas to apply towards the next event. No one was complaining btw :).
Once again, THANK YOU ALL for being part of this amazing event! We had tons of fun and left feeling excited and happy :). Stay tuned for the next set of workshops, and remember, there is always a way to improve your skills no matter what you do!
