Currently, we’re looking for a motivated Director of Technology to join our team.

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, this position is of strategic importance to Netguru’s continued growth. We have over ten years of experience in building digital solutions and bringing our clients business value supported by cutting-edge technology. We’ve already worked on some great and challenging projects, but we know that there are a lot of new opportunities just around the corner. To seize them, we need a talented Director of Technology. The ideal candidate will provide sound technical leadership to a team of 300+ engineers and work with staff and senior management to ensure the company’s technologies are used appropriately and optimally. Forward thinking and strong technical acumen are desired in this role. The candidate should display a can-do attitude and credibility in the planning and execution of an innovative technology strategy that includes a diverse client portfolio. Experience in an organization providing and deploying enterprise software solutions and professional services to the enterprise, as well as web-based solutions, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of 300+ talented engineers and specialists (Web, Mobile, Data Science, QA, and DevOps teams).
     
    • Building a team development strategy.
    • Mentoring and motivating your direct reports (Engineering Managers) via a dynamic, confident, and professional demeanor.
    • Supporting your team to succeed in reaching their professional goals.
    • Supporting interdepartmental teams towards the integration of different stacks, processes, and standards.
    • Promoting interdepartmental knowledge sharing and an ecosystem based on open discussions, new ideas, and best practices.
  • Designing and implementing a short-term and long-term technology strategy that includes a diverse client portfolio (with a special focus on enterprise solutions).
     
    • Along with our R&D Team, forecasting, planning, researching and selecting new technologies enabling the company to achieve business goals.
    • Providing strategic direction for technical assessment, prioritization, architecture, and deployment of commercial products and services.
    • Establishing, refining and supervising the software development process, setting short- and long-term objectives, and assessing progress.
    • Keeping track of industry trends and competitors’ activities.
  • Ensuring high quality and standardized services, products, and processes within Tech.
     
    • Ensuring that Netguru software provides optimum solutions, meeting clients’ expectations and bringing them real business value.
    • Defining and communicating the company’s standards for acquiring or developing software.
    • Ensuring that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
    • Ensuring company engineering problems are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Identifying and executing business process improvements related to applications, systems, and client implementations.
  • Collaborating effectively with other Netguru teams and with clients.
     
    •  Working directly with our Head of Delivery and in close collaboration with the senior management team.
    • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities and drive innovation and improvements.
    • Contributing to key customer meetings to promote existing relationships and build new ones.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in managing a team of 250+ people.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development processes and cloud projects.
  • Proven track record in planning and implementing business, growth, or product strategies.
  • Engineering background and experience in delivering scalable and large projects (ideally enterprise software).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (minimum C1 CEFR); Polish is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve ambitious goals in an innovative, agile, fast-paced, and growing company.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends for technology and product roadmaps.
  • Strong critical thinking ability and analytical skills  – you don’t accept the status-quo and assertively strive to implement new solutions based on data analysis.
  • Ability to establish effective long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Forthright team player who is an active member of a high-performing environment.
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn new things, keeping track of industry trends and competitors’ activities.

  • Experience in a relevant role in a growing software consulting company.
  • Experience in working closely with the Business Development team to generate ideas and processes that will result in a stronger sales pipeline.
  • Demonstrated ability to envision and design web-based services that meet consumer needs and solve business problems.
  • Experience in writing informative blog posts, articles, and presentations on digital products and services.
