NewGlobe works with governments around the world to raise the quality of basic schooling. Since 2007 it has combined school management, teacher development, instructional design, technical support, classroom practice and parent engagement, all of it grounded in learning science.

The challengeWhat the teams actually needed
NewGlobe wanted scripted teacher guides produced faster, both to enter new regions and to keep investing in the programmes it already runs.
Challenge 01Four hours per guide, thousands of guides
Each guide was written by hand in about four hours, and a single programme needs somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000 of them. That delayed launches and capped investment elsewhere.
Challenge 02Templates merged by hand
Producing a guide meant combining templates with specific content spreadsheets — heavily manual work, repeated thousands of times.
Challenge 03A team pulled away from the real work
The volume required a large team, which took people away from higher-impact activities such as course design and strategy, while new regions demanded content aligned to local curricula.
What we did
GenAI pointed at an existing library of exemplars
A two-day workshop opened the project — process background, vision, feature scope, user journey, risks and technical requirements — before any model work began. Delivery ran alongside the client’s Amsterdam development team and Chief Academic Officer.
Picked for structured output
Model selection came first, then a first version of the generation system built around NewGlobe’s own corpus of content and domain expertise.
A micro-app inside the portal
The system ships as a micro-application in the client’s existing application portal, connected to the teacher guide templates and content spreadsheets, with an API behind the integration.
Hallucination kept out of the output
Prompts were designed for repeatability and adherence to predefined guidelines, holding lexile complexity where it needs to be and keeping generated content structured and easy to parse.
It has to open on the day
UI work, debugging and compatibility with Microsoft Office and the software that renders guides on end devices — the unglamorous part that decides whether anyone can use it.
