Suggest It answers a simple question — what is happening near me — and answers it currently. The app works as a digital announcement board for local events, where people add events, browse by place and time, and look at each other’s agendas to find something worth going to.
An events app only works if adding something is as easy as finding something, and both had to be true across an eight-hour time difference between the teams.
People needed to find events of many kinds happening near them.
Adding events, browsing by place, time and type, viewing other users’ agendas and integrating with a calendar all had to be in scope.
Comments, shares and suggestions were needed, along with invitations to join other people’s events.
What we did
Netguru proposed the most cost-effective route in the shortest time available, and drew a first-phase roadmap for an MVP with fewer features than had been envisaged.
The existing app was revamped, with the frontend code reviewed and updated to carry the new design.
UI code and logic were revised across all screens to fit the new design, and app navigation modified with it.
The teams worked across an eight-hour time difference while keeping transparency and constant feedback intact.
Work began with iOS developers alone and expanded into other disciplines, with developers, project managers and QA specialists proposing improvements whenever they saw the need — which is where a number of the UX and in-app ideas came from.
