Booksy is a cloud platform for appointment scheduling and business management in beauty, wellness and allied services. It puts clients in touch with providers, and hands those providers one place to run their diary, take payment, market themselves, manage a team — and now order their stock too.

The challengeWhat needed solving

Booksy wanted business users to run their entire supply chain in one place, from finding a supplier to raising the order — which meant turning a consumer booking app into a business management platform for the sector.

Challenge 01Supply chain outside the app

Salons booked clients on Booksy but ordered from suppliers elsewhere. Booksy wanted both in one place.

Challenge 02Inventory too complex for salons

The existing module worked like an ERP system. Small businesses needed tools they could run without training.

Challenge 03Two weeks to prove the value

Many new providers expected only client leads. During the trial, they had to see that Booksy could also run their back office.

What we did

From a security team extension to co-owning the B2B roadmap

We started with a small team improving platform security. That work grew into building Booksy's B2B marketplace, with our teams shaping the roadmap across ecommerce, inventory, design and QA.

Area 01 · Ecommerce

Ecommerce

A checkout and search built for B2B buyers

We built a checkout module integrated with Booksy's new payment system and migrated product search to Elasticsearch. Business customers can now search and buy from a catalog of 30,000+ products in one flow.

Area 02 · Inventory

Product

Stock management without the ERP

Salons needed inventory tools that match how they order and restock. We designed a new module around those processes, built to connect with the Booksy Store, ecommerce and payments.

Area 03 · Design

Product design

Onboarding that shows the whole product

Providers have two weeks to see what Booksy can do. UX experiments put the value propositions into registration, added a test appointment after signup and moved profile setup earlier.

Area 04 · QA

QA

Search ready for peak traffic

Performance tests put the search module under peak load, from filters and sorting to full-text search across ~30,000 products. The audit pinpointed bottlenecks and gave Booksy clear optimization steps to keep the marketplace ready for growth.
