PPK is a long-term savings programme introduced by the Polish government as one answer to an ageing society. The bill obliges employers to pay an annual premium into each employee’s PPK account, which in turn lets financial institutions build savings products around it.
Three parties worked on the portal. Aegon, which operates internationally in pensions, life insurance and asset management, was the client. Product ownership sat with The Heart, a builder of corporate companies. Netguru managed the project and developed it.
The legislation is heavily regulated and implementing it creates an overwhelming amount of work, particularly for HR.
Aegon wanted to give people a simpler route through everything the long-term savings programme involves.
The same bill that burdens employers creates room for financial institutions to offer products around it.
The project absorbed multiple changes to what it was meant to be while the deadline stayed where it was.

What we did
Development was owned by Netguru together with The Heart, which left Aegon free to concentrate on its core business.
The platform lets people find everything they need to know about the savings programme without reading the legislation.
Users submit their own questions and sign up for the newsletter rather than being left with a static page.
A calculator works out what someone’s PPK contributions actually come to.
The portal integrates with the client’s CRM, and every requirement was delivered inside the agreed timeframe.
Netguru quote
We decided to work with Netguru after a recommendation we have received from within a company. Knowing that we can work with professionals experienced in user-friendly designs was a natural step to make. That is why we partnered with Netguru to work on this platform.
